Linnea Zemaitis (Oslund/Britton), born April 16, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully just 2 days shy of her 77th birthday on April 14, 2026. She was able to spend her last month surrounded by love, laughter and family.
Linn was a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids. A 1967 graduate of Union High School, she dedicated over two decades of her career to working in the café at Frederik Meijer Gardens, where she brought warmth and friendliness to visitors and colleagues alike. Her presence was marked by kindness and an ever-present smile, reflecting her generous personality and great sense of humor.
Family was at the heart of Linn's life. She treasured the time spent with her children—Jason Britton, Ericka and Curtis Irwin, and Amy Britton—and found particular joy in the company of her grandchildren, Alivia and Lucas Britton and Maxwell and Ava Irwin. Known for her culinary talents, Linn was an exceptional cook and baker, delights she generously shared with her loved ones. Beyond the kitchen, she enjoyed shopping and gardening, activities that brought joy.
Linn was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Louis Oslund, who laid the foundation for the strong, loving woman she became. Her kindness, laughter, and devotion to family endures in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Per her request, cremation has taken place.
Linn leaves behind a devoted family who will carry forward her memory with love.
