Linda Hudson, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on June 22, 1952, in Grant, Michigan, Linda's journey through life was a testament to her loving spirit and remarkable strength.

A graduate of Jordan College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Linda carried with her a blend of wisdom and warmth that endeared her to everyone around her. She was known for her vibrant sense of humor and her contagious smile, bringing joy to even the smallest moments in life. A proud member of a large, close-knit extended family, she truly embraced her role as a loving matriarch, cultivating bonds that would last a lifetime.

Linda’s personality shone through in all aspects of her life. She was caring, talented, and strong-willed, traits that guided her passionate pursuits. She found solace and joy in painting, sewing, crocheting, baking, and decorating cakes; each creation a reflection of her heartfelt devotion. Her cooking not only nourished but also united her family, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Linda's bond with her feline companion, Ms. Gray, brought her immense joy, exemplifying her nurturing spirit.

Throughout her life, she relished in the success of her proudest accomplishments, which were rooted deeply in family and home. Linda's legacy of love is carried forward by her daughter, Michelle Visser, and her sons, Keipher (Maryann) Decker, Brandon (Tabatha) Derby, Brenton (Poppy) Hudson, and Harold (Amanda) Hudson. She was a devoted sister to her brother, Ron (Loretta) Veltkamp, and her sisters, Sheryl (Grandville) Couey, Rhonda (Art) Frayer, Nettie (Jeff) Atwood, and Valerie (Ed) Holmes. Linda is also remembered fondly by her sister-in-law, Gladys Keech.

Her grandchildren, Anthony Link, Whitney Decker, Hailey (Derrick) Decker, Devon Cole, Timothy Hudson, Daniel Hudson, Benjamin (Alera) Hudson, Courtney (Jackson) Hill, and Caleb Hudson.and great-grandchildren Lila, Garrett, Lily, Emily, Brendon and Rylynn will carry her legacy of love and kindness forward, as will her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who are left to cherish the beautifully bright memories they shared with her.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hudson, who, along with her mother, Erma Veltkamp, father, Orie Veltkamp, brother, Larry Veltkamp, sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Mary, and granddaughter-in-law, Genna Sharp, welcomed her with open arms. Their memories will forever be intertwined with the love they created together.

As we celebrate Linda Hudson's life, we reflect on the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. With her loving nature, artistic creativity, and dedication to family, she touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.
