Lauretta Fay Tyler, age 65, of Decatur, Michigan, passed away on December 25, 2023. She was born on June 14, 1958, and lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. Lauretta's educational journey began at Decatur High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with learning and growth, finding solace and guidance in her faith. Lauretta was known for her outgoing nature and loving spirit. She had a heart of gold and always went out of her way to help others. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a friend in need or brightening the day of a child at Marcellus Schools where she worked as a beloved lunch lady, Lauretta's kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Her interests were as diverse as her love for people. Lauretta enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting for mushrooms, fishing, reading and spending time in nature. She found solace in walking along the beach, collecting driftwood, stones, and glass. Lauretta had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. Despite her own battles with Crohn's and Lupus disease, Lauretta remained resilient and strong. She faced her challenges with courage and never let her illnesses define her. Lauretta's unwavering faith in the Lord gave her the strength to endure and inspired those around her. Lauretta is survived by her two children, KellyAnn Jensen and Philip Stickels Jr.(spouse Lacey Stickels),her sisters Theresa and Melissa Tyler, her brothers Kenneth and Kevin Tyler and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Tyler, her father, Kenneth Tyler, and the father of her children and best friend, John Jensen. A celebration of Lauretta's life will be held in June, and details will be provided at a later date. In lieu of donations, the family kindly requests prayers for those who are still suffering. Lauretta Fay Tyler will be remembered as a devoted mother, friend, sister, daughter and woman who touched the lives of many. Her legacy of love, selflessness, and strength will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
