Kristina Bylsma

Kristina (Kris) Bylsma, age 95, went to be with her Lord on Sept 28, 2024. We are grateful that she passed away peacefully in her sleep and that she was in general good health right up to the end. It is a blessing that we were able to enjoy her presence for so many years. She was born on February 28, 1929 in Garijp, Friesland, Netherlands to the late Hendrik and Martiena (van der Meulen) Kuipers. In spite of growing up during the Depression, spending her teenage years in the Netherlands during World War II, spending the first year of marriage in the hospital with TB, and having a seriously handicapped son, she was a gracious woman, quick with a smile, and full of gratitude. She kept herself in great shape and was very interested in challenges, such as starting roller blading in her early 70’s. She also enjoyed mental challenges, such as doing puzzles, which she did up to her final days. She was a deeply spiritual woman, reading her Bible regularly and looking forward to being reunited to those that had passed on before her.She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Bylsma in 2021; her son, Glenn Bylsma;sister, Akke (Hilbert) Wester; sister, Anne Kuipers; brother, Been (Eky) Kuipers; sister, Tjitske (Fokke) vander Heide; sister, Nanke Kuipers, brother-in-law, Al Bylsma; sister-in-law, Jan Kosten. She is survived by her sons Frank (Linda) Bylsma, Rick (Bly) Bylsma, and Ken (Adriana) Bylsma, sisters-in-law Etta (Tony Aguayo) VanderWerff, Mina (Gord) Dornbush, and Jane Bylsma, 11 grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces.
