On Nov. 24, 2023, Kimberly Havens (Popma) took her last breath. After years of fighting Alzheimer's, her eyes hold light once more. She is now in God's grace, reuniting with all those who have gone before her. She is sitting at the family table for this holiday season, celebrating with her grandson Jonathan, her cousin Meagan, her parents Donna and Donald Popma, and the father of her daughters, Bruce Havens. They sit at the table and talk of all their love and pride for all of us remaining. Still here grieving for her loss is a large family. Daughters: Amanda Havens and Heather Mills, a stepson, Dan Rietsma. Grandchildren: Shaine Perry and Bella, Kodie Perry and Jessica, as well as their son Trenton, Cherish (Jeremiah) Wascher, Laylah Seibold, Jesiah Seibold, Aiyanna Barnes. Siblings: Debra Kaufman, Patti (Gary) Zylstra, Richard (Lori) Popma, Renee (Khalad) Al-Eisa, Cindy Chambers, Terri Anes, Don (Ilsa) Popma, Tim (Carol) Popma, Ron (Chris) Williams, Larry (Laura) Stob. She had many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. She also left behind her lifelong best friend, Sue Alexander.
Kimberly will be remembered as a kind woman with a big heart. She took in so many people throughout her life. She couldn't stand to see someone suffer, and she would take food off her plate so that someone else could eat.
A church memorial service of remembrance will be held in the spring of 2024.
