Kathleen Eleanor (Foy) Silvers passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in her home and surrounded by family. She is remembered and survived by her daughters Sheila Barrett and Teresa Sessions (Joseph); her grandchildren, Brandae Basner, Gretchen Wright (Joel), Sarah Wallace (Michael), Rachel Tindall (Brett), Dominic Sessions, Emerson Basner, Shalimar Horsey (Jonathan), Spencer Basner (Amy), and Trevor Basner; eighteen great-grand children; one great-great-grandson; and nephew Ronald Pomeroy (Gloria).

Born in Saginaw, Michigan in 1933, to Joseph William Foy and Elsie Louise Anna (Sonsmith) Foy and raised on a farm in Burt, Michigan. She finished school through the tenth grade. Kathleen had two older siblings, Margaret and Howard.

She married Robert Barrett, became a mother, and divorced. Then married Richard Silvers, until his death.

Kathleen, was employed at Michigan State University in their Food Sciences Department for over 23 years. She was active on bowling leagues for decades. Some of her favorite places included the casino and bingo. She could often be found trying out recipes in the kitchen from Food and  Women's Magazine. She was known for shopping HSN and QVC. Kathleen endured several major health crises in her last couple decades with grace.

Kathleen will be remembered by her strong will, spunky personality, and generosity, along with being an incredible cook. She will be greatly missed.

Celebration of life and memorial service will be held at a later date.
