Karen Elizabeth Clark, 75, of Dorr, MI went to be with Jesus, peacefully at 4:00 am, Saturday, May 1st, 2021 in Wyoming, MI. Karen was born March 3, 1946 in Cheltenham, England, to Leo and Betty White and lived in Lansing, MI for more than 6 decades. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Betty and her grandson, Christopher. Karen is survived by her sister, Pat Blanchard as well as her children and their spouses, Melanie Hough and Lester Johnson, Rick and Jan Clark, Sam and Dan Gasch, Beckie and JJ Griffin, and Rich and Aubree Clark. Karen is also survived by a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Karen was a baptized child of God, with a beautiful soul and a large heart who you would often find watching crime documentaries on the ID channel or docuseries on the History channel. She was a sponge for knowledge - always looking to learn about new things (mostly so she could crush her competition in trivia games) or expanding on her knowledge of topics she already knew about. Most days you could find her in the recliner with her beloved dog Sparky, coloring adult coloring books and drinking a cup of Suisse Mocha. Karen loved to chat and would gladly sit on the phone for hours with her family members or at the island in her home talking to her son, daughter in law and grandchildren. Karen had no shortage of love to give, whether it be for humans or animals, a trait inherited from her father Leo, who she often said was the best man she had ever met and the most loving father anyone could ever ask for. She loved to place food outside so she could listen to the birds sing and watch the squirrels scurry about. As an avid nature lover, somedays you could walk in the kitchen and gaze through the sliding glass door only to see her, absorbing the beauty around her, feeling the wind blow against her face and sucking in the warm rays of the sun. Karen will be cremated by Grand Rapids Cremation. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Contact Rich Clark for details. “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in Heaven, not built by human hands.” 2 Cor. 5:1 NIV
