Karen Barnes

Karen Jean Barnes, age 60, passed away peacefully January 2nd, 2022.

Karen was born December 25th, 1961, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Karen grew up in a loving home, the middle child of three siblings. Karen had a great mind for numbers. She studied business at Grand Rapids Community College and used her skills as a bookkeeper.

Karen loved the outdoors. She enjoyed being on the water, boating with her friends on Lake Michigan. During the winter months, she often enjoyed snowmobiling and cabin life in Irons, Michigan. Karen was a kind soul, adored by her family and friends. She was an independent woman, fun, and bright. She cared greatly about those around her. Karen loved her nephews and the time she shared with them.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Nancy DeBoer (Larry), brother James Barnes (Tricia) and nephews Jacob, Jared, and Jadon. She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Lois Barnes.
