Joyce Lenore Llano-Montoya

Joyce L. Llano-Montoya, age 60 of Wayland, MI, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2023, in Grand Rapids, MI.

She was born on June 17, 1963. Joyce was a loving and compassionate individual who cherished her family and friends with all her heart and soul. She had a genuine love and care for everyone she met.

Joyce was a loving wife to Alfredo Llano-Montoya and a devoted mother to her children Sonya Mellema, Darryl Mellema, Nicholas Mellema, Steven Hunter (Amber Hunter), Zander Mellema, step-daughter Ava Sage, and a cherished grandmother to Kelly, Dakota, Ethan, Chase, Kaiden, Rosalena, Rebekah, Nicholas Jr., Sarah, Casey, Kyle, Kristen, Bonnie, Makayla, Jacob, Ricky, and Allison. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her mother, Mandy Deuel, mother in law Amanda Montoya de Llano, twin sister, Janet Henslee (Denver), and sisters Susann Gillaspy and Dayna Deuel-Kaphaen, as well as brothers Raymond Krieger (Marie) and Eric (McKelle) Fisher. nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She was also known as Mom and Grandma to several other children through the years. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joyce was preceded in death by William and Jean Krieger, William and Grace Hauch, Lenore Laymen, and Paul Duel.

Joyce found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She had a passion for shopping and buying Paparazzi Jewelry. Her vibrant personality and love for her family touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Joyce enjoyed creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Her kind spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed.

Cremation has already taken place. We ask everyone to join us for her Celebration of Life that will be held on July 23 at 4 pm: Paw Paw VFW Hall 2532 McKinley Wilson-Hall 115 N Niles St, Paw Paw, MI 49079.

We will be having a Potluck style meal, featuring Joyce's favorite foods. If you would like to bring a dish to pass, please do so.
