Jourden Roose

September 24, 1993 — November 21, 2021

Jourden Wayne Roose lost his battle with mental illness on Sunday, November 21 at the age of 28. He is survived by his two young sons, Raiden and Easton Roose, his parents Richie (Nancy) Roose, Wendy (Rob Wiborn)Moon, brothers Zaharia (Bree) Roose, Robby (Erica) Campbell and Kevin Bennett; sisters Kayla Roose, Nicole Bennett and Megan Paradine and dear friend Matt Rugg along with his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private service was held on November 24 with a memorial celebration of life at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Toys for Tots, Wounded Warrior, VFW or National Alliance on Mental Illness of Lansing (NAMI).

Jourden succumbed to the silence of mental illness. He struggled with a disease that quietly steals the most important parts of yourself and too often goes without being acknowledged. It is a disease of the mind, of your mental outlook at yourself and your world. This deadly disease stole from us a charismatic, caring, creative artist who loved to skateboard and play video games. He was recognized for his exceptional backflips anytime, anywhere off any surface. His ability to build something from nothing mechanically. His friends remember him for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. He deeply loved his two beautiful sons, who he believed were the very best part of him.

We ask that you hold your friends and family close. Tell them everyday how extraordinary they are, how in their uniqueness they bring joy and love to your life. Be candid. Be fearless. Be there.
