John Roland Straub, a devoted family man and lifelong entrepreneur, was born on November 26, 1949, and passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 75. He left behind a legacy rooted in faith, hard work, and deep love for his family. He lived with intention and joy, especially when it came to celebrating the lives and accomplishments of those he held dearest.
Above all, John’s greatest pride was his deep and unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That faith shaped every part of his life—his work, his family, and his relationships. It was his sincere hope that all would come to know the same love, peace, and grace that he experienced through his walk with Christ.
John found his greatest happiness in his family—cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, showing up for their milestones, and beaming with pride at every opportunity. He never missed a chance to encourage, support, or remind others how loved they were. His pride in the legacy of his family was unmistakable and lasting.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Straub (Anisko); their children, Stephanie (Jason) Rowe, Andrew (Amy) Straub, Paul (Audrey) Straub, and Rebecca (Mark) Milward; and his brother, Douglas (Kathy) Straub.
John was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild: - From Stephanie: Joshua (Stephanie) Jackson, Makenna Jackson, Katelyn Jackson, Austin, and Kyrie - From Andrew: Anna (Arie) Vreugdenhil, Jennelle, Kayla, Nathan, and Jordan - From Paul: Haley, Jonah, Noah, Jorja, and Emery - From Rebecca: Jacob, Zachary, Madisyn, and Makenzie - Great-grandchild: Braelyn, daughter of Joshua and Stephanie Jackson
John was preceded in death by his father Roland, his mother Florence (Straub) Rogers, and his sister Diane.
John’s memory will live on in the strength of his faith, the love of his family, and the legacy of encouragement, generosity, and conviction that he poured into everyone he met.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Services will take place at Vertical Church, 9695 Adams St, Holland, MI 49424.
