Jody Lansberry

Jody David Lansberry, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 73 on September 18, 2024, in Dowagiac, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 20, 1950, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Jody lived a life marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and friendliness that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Jody proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1968 to 1976, completing two tours in Vietnam. His dedication to service was a testament to his strength and character. Following his time in the military, Jody embarked on a forty-year career as a semi-truck driver, a role that showcased his work ethic and love for the open road.

At home, Jody was a loving husband to his wife, Diane Slone, and a guiding light to his children, Corry (Tara) Lansberry, Jody Lynn Becker, and stepson David Slone. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carrie Holt, and grandson, Wyatt Becker, as well as his parents, Albert and Betty (Williams) Lansberry, and brothers Jim, Ray, and John. Jody's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Isaac, Garrett, Parker, Madison, and Delilah, who will forever cherish the memories created with their grandfather.

Jody's interests were simple yet brought him immense joy. He was often found shopping for the perfect find or engaging in games on the computer, where he displayed his competitive spirit and love for a good challenge. These moments of leisure were precious to Jody and provided a wonderful balance to his hardworking nature.
