Joan Mary Konopka

Konopka, Joan M, 88 (Nowacki) a former long-term resident of Depew, NY - passed away on July 14, 2025 in Southwest Michigan where she had resided for several years. Joan had also lived in both Florida and Delaware for lengthy periods.

Joan was born in Buffalo, NY and attended Villa Maria High School. She subsequently worked as a clerk at the Neisner Brothers department store where she met her husband, Ed. They were married from June 1, 1957 until his death in October of 2023. Joan also worked for many years as a medical secretary at Buffalo General Hospital.

In addition to her beloved husband, Edward, Joan was preceded in death by her: parents, Leo and Helen (Szczepaniak) Konopka, brother Daniel Nowacki, and son-in-law Orlando (OJ) Mazza. Joan is survived by her: brother-in-law, Joseph Konopka; sister-in-law, Irma Nowacki; children - Lynn Mazza, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Konopka, and Kathleen (Timothy) Sarchett; grandchildren - Christine (Tom) Stahlecker, Brian Lagree, Mark Lagree, Jared Wahl, Justin (Tannon) Konopka, and Jessica (Brent) Hammond; great-granddaughters - Olivia and Eleanor Stahlecker; and great-grandson, Sebastian Konopka. She was looking forward to the birth of her 4th great-grandchild later in 2025.

Joan will be interred privately at St. Matthews cemetery in West Seneca, NY.
