Joan Gundy

Joan Marie Gundy, born November 5th, 1945, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2024

in Grand Haven, Michigan. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and

dear friend to many.

Born in Oakland, California to Paul and Mary Lou Peabody, Joan lived a life filled with

love, laughter and kindness. She and Ronald Gundy married on September 12th, 1970 in

Muskegon, Michigan where the two began their life together. Joan worked as a social worker for

Social Services of Muskegon, where she was respected for her dedication and hard work. She is

a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving her country from 1964 to 1967.

In her free time, Joan found solace and joy in the simple moments spent with her family

and friends. She enjoyed visiting Lake Michigan to read in the peace and quiet of the waves.

Joan volunteered her time with the Grand Haven Area Public Schools choir and orchestra

programs, where she touched the lives of hundreds of individuals.

Joan will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Ronald Gundy, her children, Jason

and Jerry Gundy, and her nine grandchildren. She was known for her warm smile, gentle

demeanor, and unwavering generosity, and will be remembered and honored as such.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Lou Peabody, as well as her

brothers, Tim, Tom, and Pat Peabody.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced by the family at a later date.
