Jeffrey Scott Bowman

Jeffrey “Jeff” S. Bowman, 59, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jeff was born on December 11, 1960 in Buchanan, Michigan to the late Paul L. and Frances “Peggy” A. (Watts) Bowman. He moved to Grand Rapids over 30 years ago to attend Kendall College of Art and Design. While attending college, he started to work as a waiter at Denny’s and continued to work at the same location until his passing. Jeff was a true artist and was able to create beautiful pieces any multiple mediums. He especially loved wood carving and painting. He loved collecting antiques, feeling the connections of the past. Jeff loved all things of nature, especially birds. He would often go camping among the cedar trees in rustic areas along Lake Michigan. His favorite camping site was in the Michigan State Park in Baldwin. He had a deep connection with the Native American community of Grand Rapids, attending many powwows where he also vendored his craft. Jeff especially loved the Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow in St. Ignace. His gentle spirit and loving soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his brother, Dave Bowman and sister, Sheila Conklin. He is survived by his brother, Jim Bowman and sister, Cindy (Kerry) Foley; and many nieces and nephews
