Jason Partanen

Age 45, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025. Jason was born in Kalamazoo on August 8, 1979, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Brizendine) Partanen. Jason was a beloved son, husband, father and brother. He was a 1998 graduate of Portage Northern High School. Jason loved his children, hockey, racing, traveling, playing pool, his photography and of course pizza. He was an avid fan of all the surrounding racecar tracks where he took his love of photography with him. In the last few years Jason spent most of his days working as an Assistant Equipment Manager for the Motor City Rockers Hockey team based out of Fraser, Michigan where he was able to truly shine and share his knowledge of the game. 

Jason is survived by his wife Kelli Partanen (Randt); daughter: Ellie Partanen; sons: Ricky and Tyler Partanen; siblings: Rick Partanen and Laura (Jason) Heckelman; nieces and nephews: Johnathon (Taylor) and Joshua Partanen, Casey and Connor Nolan, Skylar (Zachary) Grubb, Tyson and Kelsey Heckelman; and several aunts, uncles cousins & friends. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Peter Partanen, his mother Dorothy (Brizendine) Partanen, his brother Michael Partanen. 

Jason lived a life of generosity, dedication and joy. His memory will live on in every K-Wing or Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey game, every photo and in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.

The Family asks you to join them for a celebration of Jason's life on Sunday August 24th, 2025 from 1p-4p at the Main Street Pub located at 208 E Prairie St in Vicksburg, Michigan.
