Mary Jane Rasmussen (Van Regenmorter), 79, of Holland, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2022.
Jane grew up in the Macatawa area, which always held a special place in her heart. Her grandparents, Leonard and Mary, started and ran the early post office from the basement of their home on South Shore Drive. On October 28, 1961, Jane married her high school sweetheart, Warren Hale Rasmussen. The couple owned Classic Candle Shop in downtown Holland, sold antiques from a booth at The Saugatuck Antique Pavilion and enjoyed taking trips on their ‘his’ and ‘hers’ scooters well into their 60’s. Jane went on to work in the billing department of Holland Hospital until retirement. Jane was a big sports fan and followed basketball and football very closely. She loved the Big Red lighthouse, sunsets and bird watching out of her big picture window. Jane was a kind soul who loved to spend time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jane is survived by her sister Elizabeth TerHaar (Jarve TerHaar), her three daughters, Cindy Beckman, Mary Bryant (Tom Bryant) and Jennifer Rasmussen (Rick Harper), 2 nieces, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Warren Hale Rasmussen (d. 2016), her parents Wallace (d. 1968) and Rose (d. 1968), brothers Bob (d. 1983) and Jack (d. 2011), and granddaughter Jacilyn Jean Beckman (d. 2018).
A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2 at 4-6 pm at Park Christian Reformed Church located at 1496 32nd Street in Holland, Michigan.
