Jim Minix passed away on June 11, 2024, surrounded in love by his beloved wife Judy of 50 years.
Jim is survived by his wife whom he loved and children:
James Jeffery (Crystal) Minix, Lisa (John) Williams, Danny Williams, James Todd (Tracy) Minix, Kimmie Minix-Haag (Rusty) David Lee Minix.
17 Amazing Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.
Papa absolutely adored 3 special angels, Alissa, Kendall and Tressa. The continued smiles, laughs and moments spent with them, kept Jim’s spirits up even when he felt his worse. His little angels motivated him to continue fighting his battle with cancer. He loved his grandchildren and would do anything in the world for them.
Also survived by his three siblings, Sharon Baskin, Greg (Phyllis) Minix and Darla (Steve) Conley. Sister-in-Law, Lisa Minix
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ham and Tressie (Cole) Minix, his daughter Vicki Lynne Minix, and his brother Larry Minix.
Jim fought a long and courageous battle with this disease (Cancer) until the very end as it took his precious life. His plan was to spend many more years watching his family grow. His time on Earth was a blessing to many that knew him. A man of passion to succeed and continue to teach anyone that wanted his words of wisdom.
Jim was born September 8, 1941, in Carver, Kentucky. Jim’s family moved to Michigan in 1951. As Jim grew older his stomping grounds were Jackson Michigan and final home in Grand Rapids Michigan. He lived in multiple other places in-between but those were the places he called home.
Jim focused his career on plastics and sales, and he excelled. The networking he did and the people that he knew was astounding. Jim had an eye for innovation and developed many ideas and implemented them. His work never ceased even up to a couple weeks before his passing. He still kept in contact and supported different companies. Never a man that wanted to quit his passion for keeping him active both mentally and physically.
Or course it would not be very fitting if we didn’t mention his love for the game of Golf! He spent many hours on the Tee Boxes continuously trying to improve his swing, chips and putts. The bond of golf was shared with his wife, Judy. They did many road trips, visited many courses, but loved his membership and friendships he cultivated at, Highlands/Elks, Blythefield Country Club and Thousand Oaks Golf Course. Jim and Judy would always put smiles on everyone’s faces, and impacted so many peoples lives in memorable ways.
