James Jeffrey Hall, a Loving Husband, Father, Papaw, and brother passed away surrounded by his family on August 31, 2024, in Grand Rapids, MI, at the age of 57. James was born on March 9, 1967, in Albion, MI. He is preceded in death by his father, James Hall, and his mother, Linda Johnson. James's life was a journey of joy, love, and the simple pleasures of life. James was known for his kind heart, helping hand, and his goofiness (Jimmy). He dedicated his life to his family: Catherine Annie Hall, The Love of His Life, was his wife for 26 years, his constant companion and partner in every adventure. Together, they created a family that was James's pride and joy. His children, Stephanie (Zach) Gross, Deidra (Billy) Empey, Carl Devries, Trevor Hall, and Austin (Gabby) Hall. He was extremely proud to be called Papaw by his 10 grandchildren, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of one more.
James is also survived by Greg (Peggie) Hall of Akron, OH. Melinda (Willy) Hall of Weeksbury, KY. Jamie (Derrick) Palmer of Sparta, MI. And a brother like a cousin Bobby Hall of Wyoming, MI.
He Loved the outdoors, and James found serenity in fishing, a pastime that he loved. Camping trips were a regular family affair. Let’s not forget, Casino trips with his kids, and his spur-of-the-moment Ventures out Garage Sailing. James's legacy is one of unwavering commitment to the ones he loved. His guidance and wisdom will be profoundly missed, yet the lessons he taught, the advice he would give, and the importance of family will live on through his children and grandchildren. His presence was a comfort, his laughter contagious, and his ability to love unconditionally was his greatest gift to all who knew him. As we bid farewell to James Jeffrey Hall, we honor a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit will forever live on in his family, guiding them with the memories of the times they shared and the love that bound them together. James's journey on earth has ended, but his story will continue to be told with affection and admiration by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
