Jim Costie, 56, a father of five and friend, passed away on May 24 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 8th 1970 in Troy Michigan.
Jim spent many years working in the automotive industry as a used car salesman. At the age of 18 with the support of a close family friend, he began his career at a Ford dealership. Through hard work and dedication, he quickly worked his way up to used car manager. After several successful years in the business, Jim followed his dream and opened his own used car dealership Coz Motors.
Owning his own business gave Jim the freedom to dedicate more time to what mattered most to him- his children. Coaching became one of his greatest passions, beginning with soccer when his kids were young. Over the years he proudly coached countless seasons of soccer, basketball, baseball and softball. The time spent supporting and encouraging his children and their teammates was one of the greatest joys of his life.
When time allowed, Jim loved spending summers boating on the river, camping and swimming with kids in the family pool. These moments with family and friends became the happiest memories of his life.
Jim is survived by his loving children Phelicia, Zavior, Theodor (Kaylee), Ariana, Kiarra and their mother Venus. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers Bill, Chris and Jesse, his sister Renee, his stepmother Karen and his dog Hercules. As well as extended family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his father James Ernest and mother Ricky Costie, mother in law Lois Story and dear friend and family member Tim Bell.
Jim will be remembered for his hard work and deep love for his family. 🩶
