Jack Alfred Decker, our cherished patriarch, devoted husband, and steadfast farmer was called to heaven the evening of September 26, 2026 during the Full Harvest Moon, surrounded by his loving family. 

Jack was born on December 11, 1933 to Clarence and Beulah (Bodfish) Decker in South Haven, MI. 

Jack was home from the United States Army when he met his beautiful wife of almost 70 years, Elaine (Knight) Decker. They were married September 29, 1956 and their story began. They then brought two children into the world, their daughter, Patricia and their son, John. 

Jack and Elaine raised their children on a beautiful farm in Fennville. Jack loved to see his crops grow and thrive. He loved the early morning chores just as much as his after lunch nap. He was eager to listen to the weather report whether it be on TV or the weather radio in the kitchen. He had the ability to fix any broken piece of machinery with his experience, wisdom, and ingenuity.

After retiring from farming, Jack and Elaine found their love in another adventure together. This time it was rock hunting, cutting, polishing and making beautiful jewelry. This led them all around the United States in search for precious stones and rocks. They were able to turn from farming into accomplished artisans.

Jack loved to fish; whether on the pond or Lake Michigan. When wintering in Florida, he would fish Lake Okeechobee with great success. Jack always fried the fish to perfection. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Elaine, sister, Connie Knight, brother, Jerry Decker, and his daughter, Pat and her husband, David Gacchina. Jack will also be missed by his grandchildren Sara (Greg ) Foster, and Carmen (Bradford) Johnson. Great grandchildren were also blessed to know Jack and take a ride on a tractor every so often. They are Michael Foster, and Kaira and Graham Johnson.

Jack was preceded in death by his son John Decker, his parents Clarence and Beulah Decker, his brother-in-law JD Knight, and his sister in law Ella (Brooks) Decker.

Although no official services will take place, Jack will be remembered and missed by friends and family near and far.
