Herman J. Breuker, aged 83, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at Newaygo County Compassion Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 24, 1943, in Fremont, Herman's roots were deeply entwined with the family farm in Wooster. His life was a tapestry of working with his hands, from tinkering with cars to exploring the mechanics of small equipment. These passions, coupled with his love for meaningful conversations with friends, defined his journey.

Herman's career at local hardware stores in Fremont and Newaygo made him a familiar presence and a treasured part of community life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathleen Breuker; his daughters, Kristie Wigent and Fawnelle White; his son-in-law, Shawn Wigent; and his granddaughter, Katie and Jayce Cook (husband). The memories he created with them will be cherished forever.

Preceding him in death were his granddaughter, Heather Patterson; his brothers, Gerald, Sherwood, and Carl Breuker; his sister, Doris Bouwkamp; and his parents, Herman and Hendrika Breuker.

Herman's life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and the joy found in fixing and creating. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will occur on Friday, November 20, 2026, at the Newaygo VFW 4249 from 1-5 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.
