Gregory “Greg” Michael Chatman, age 65, of Coopersville, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on November 7, 2025.
Greg was born on August 30, 1960 to Charlie and Karen Chatman in Grand Rapids Michigan. Greg is proceeded in death by his parents, his in-laws Paul and Shirley Guzman, his daughter in-law Emily Chatman and his brother in-law John Fabian.
Greg had a deep love for music, writing poetry, and drawing. He was a man of great passion in all he did- a true family man who faced life with strength, grit, and an unwavering heart. Known for his generosity, he would give you the shirt off his back, whether you needed it or not. Greg was a devoted husband, father, friend, and grandfather. He could always be found working on projects outside or tinkering around the house, creating, fixing, or building something new.
Greg will be deeply missed by his wife of 36 years Debra Guzman (Chatman); his children Alec Chatman (fiancé Hanna Misner) Jaron Chatman, Cameron (Shelby) Chatman, Brad Chatman; and his daughter Angie Chatman from a previous marriage. He was a proud grandfather to Kali, Kennedy, Maverick, Avah, Kinsley, Kasen, Azalea, and baby boy on the way.
He is also survived by his siblings Suzy Chatman, Deb Chatman (Brechting), Dan (Sandy) Chatman, and Scott (Michelle) Chatman; in-laws Sherry (Joe) Hess, Paul Guzman, Chris (Frank) Russo, and Kim Fabian; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22,2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Crockery Township Hall, 17431 112th Ave., Nunica, MI 49448.
