Gloria Anne Peterson

Gloria Anne Peterson (Zugel, Havlik) born March 8th,1939 went home with the Lord peacefully on August 14th, 2025 while at Trinity Health Hauenstein Center, Grand Rapids MI. with family by her side.

Gloria was born in Kalamazoo MI. the 2nd of 3 daughters to proud parents Anthony Francis Zugel & Thelma Maude Starrett. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Augustine High School in Kalamazoo. Married Ed Havlik in 1964, they had 2 children together Michael Lemish and Joseph Havlik. She also helped raise 3 stepchildren during her first marriage. 

Gloria enjoyed many activities including bowling, and golfing at Deer Run Golf course, and time on Pine Hill lake in Horton MI. After her first husband's death in 1983 she met her next love, William Peterson while visiting her Aunt Helen Smith at Austin Lake in Portage MI. In 1989 they traveled to Las Vegas with Uncle Randal & Aunt Helen as witnesses and got married. While living in Portage you could find them enjoying the lake or traveling to Grand Rapids to attend a grand daughters choir concert or dance recital. After spending 31 years in Portage on the lake, they moved to Grand Rapids MI to be closer to her great grandchildren. Not long after her move she suffered 2 strokes that slowed her down, and eventually Bill and her moved in with Joe (Angie) in Comstock Park MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony (Thelma) Zugel, sister Sandra Herff, husband Ed Havlik, step-daughter's Kerry Zimmerman of Kalamazoo, Beverly Bond of Kalamazoo, and a stepson Edward Havlik II of Long Beach California.

Gloria is survived by her Husband of 35 years William Peterson of Comstock Park MI., 1 sister, Carol Grimm of St. Louis MO., 1 step-daughter Linda Sara of Jacksonville FL., 2 sons, Michael Lemish of Battle Creek MI., and Joseph (Angela) Havlik of Comstock Park MI., 5 grand-daughters, Renee Lema of Battle Creek, Christy (Chris) Judd of Cincinnati OH., JoAnna (Andrew) Havlik-Baker of Grand Rapids, Amanda Havlik(Brett Wirgau) of Grand Rapids, Brianna Havlik of Grand Rapids 1 Grandson Damon Lemish of Battle Creek, 7 great-grandson's, Reuben Lema of Battle Creek, Tyler Judd of Cincinnati OH., Michael Lemish and Danny Lemish of K Town Germany, Benjamin Baker, Henry Baker, Jacob Baker all of Grand Rapids, 2 great-granddaughters, Juliana Lema of Battle Creek, Isabell Lemish of K Town Germany 

A future memorial Celebration will planned as family circumstances, health, and travel will allow in the coming months.
