Gary Weaver

Weaver, Gary William age 72, passed way peacefully at home on February 1, 2024 surrounded by his family. Gary was the son of Thomas G. and Lucille E. Weaver, who predecease him. Gary is survived by his beloved son, Stephen Robert Weaver, who lovingly cared for him for the last 15 months. He is also survived by his uncle, Roger Weaver, brother, Tom Weaver, sister, Mary Beth Mercatante, brother, Jim Weaver and sister in law, Barb Weaver, numerous step brothers and step sisters, and even more nieces, nephews, cousins, step nieces & step nephews.

Gary graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1970 & attended Grand Rapids Junior College and Western Michigan University, before graduating from Grand Valley State University with a criminal justice degree. Shortly after college Gary, married Terri Barber, during which time Stephen was born. He spent most of his career as a sales representative with Church Mutual Insurance Company, joining the company in 1979 and continuing there, winning several trips and awards, until his retirement in 2012.

Having always been drawn to the southwestern states, Gary moved to Albuquerque, NM during his career before spending several winters in Fountain Hills, AZ after retirement with long term friend, Sue Mazzarelli.

Gary loved cheering on his favorite sports teams, had a passion for driving sports cars, and enjoyed playing golf.

Per Gary’s wishes, no services will be held. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
