Gary Robert LaFayette

Gary LaFayette passed away on June 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, outdoor adventure, and deep devotion to his family.

A man who found peace and joy in the natural beauty of Southwest Michigan, Gary could often be found walking the dunes and trails at Grand Mere State Park with his beloved dogs, Remi and June. Whether taking in a crisp morning hike or spending quiet quality time with his family, Gary embraced life with warmth and simplicity.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jesseca, and their daughters, Grace, Faith, and Maile, his parents, Chuck and Sue LaFayette and sister, Janice along with extended family and dear friends who will miss his steady presence, kind spirit, and serious problem-solving skills.

In honor of Gary’s love for a good hike, cold weather, and good food, a Memorial Celebration & Breakfast Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM at North Lake Park in Stevensville, MI. Following a time of sharing, music, and a warm breakfast, attendees are invited to take a commemorative hike at Grand Mere State Park.
