Gary Lee Beaudoin

Gary Lee Maitner Beaudoin - born May 7th, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the second of three children born to Donald and Alberta Maitner, and the first of two children to his adoptive parents, Larry and Lois Beaudoin, passed away with loved ones by his side on Monday, April 27th, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his parents, adoptive parents (aunt and uncle), and sisters Sharon and Donal Maitner.

Gary had a lifelong passion for cars—whether attending car shows, talking shop with fellow enthusiasts, or carefully tending to his own beloved collection. Gary carried his lifelong love for cars into his professional life, working as an autoshop teacher at Byron Center Schools and a sales representative for various motorsports dealerships. He loved his New Orleans Saints and could be found living it up down in New Orleans every Halloween. Gary was a person who valued connection above all and cared deeply for those around him. In return for this care, his beloved canine companions, two precocious dachshunds, Stogie and Mitch, will remain vigilant in keeping his recliner warm. He built and maintained many dear friendships over the years, each one a testament to his warmth, humor, and loyalty. His presence brought people together, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Sally Beaudoin of Grand Rapids, MI, his daughter Quincy (Michael) Kwast of Rockford, MI; grandsons Jacob (Hannah) Kwast, and Quintin Kwast; granddaughters Julia (Andrew) McKellar and Ashtyn Kwast; brother Jim (Brenda) Beaudoin; great grandchildren Micah and Sophia Kwast; step-children Angela (Peter) Mulder, Melissa (Branco) Kuznar, Erin (Gregory) Patrick, Shawn O'Hara, Jennifer (Buddy) Hawkins; and step-grandchildren Callahan Patrick, Quinn Patrick, Aubree Patrick, Miley Patrick, Jessie Mills, Thomas O'Hara, Ryan O'Hara, Connell O'Hara, Payton Kamal, and Cameron Kamal.
