Frank Passmore

Frank Passmore, a Marine Veteran, passed away peacefully in his home on December 5, 2022 after being in Hospice for two years. He was 84 years of age. Frank was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 14, 1938, son of the late Frank Passmore and late Dorothy (Gaffney) Passmore. Frank was the beloved brother of Judy (Sonny) Holevar, late Pat Abt, Betty Capstick and Linda Herzfeld.

Frank loved to hunt, fish and gamble at the casino. He was a tenacious salesman, a storyteller who told corny jokes and was obsessed with expiration dates on food. Frank was a straight shooter; he said what was on his mind without hesitation. He will be remembered for his sharp tongue and infectious laugh.

Frank was the father of four children: Frank Passmore, Ted Passmore, Sheryl (John) Ferlito and Lisa (Jim) Laratta. He had five grandchildren: Joe Ferlito, Jennifer Ferlito, Nick Laratta, Gina Laratta, and (late) Alyssa Passmore. Frank had two great grandchildren: Natalie and Andrew Ferlito.

River Grove Retirement Community staff and residents became his extended family. River Grove’s Team Frank, led by Kelly and Dawn supported him through rough times and restored his faith in humanity. Frank’s angels on earth were led by Andrea and Deanna of Faith Hospice. Frank came to love the River Grove residents and Hospice care team like family. Frank will be remembered by them as one of a kind.
