Francisco Bonilla

January 1, 1964 — February 23, 2026

Francisco “Frank” Bonilla of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by love, with his devoted wife, Chantel, and sister-in-law, Connie Hong, by his side.

Frank was born on January 1, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan, to Antonio Bonilla Sr. and Estella C. Bonilla.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Chantel Bonilla; his sons, David (Staci) Arnold and Brandon Arnold; and his daughter, Ashley Dukes. He was a proud grandfather to Grace, Mara, Alivia, Oliver, Arlo, Oaklen, Aria, Everly, and Faith, whom he lovingly cherished as his own.

He is also survived by his brothers, Ricardo (Sherry) Bonilla and Carlo (Lisa) Bonilla; his sisters, Guadalupe Martinez, Diane (Kurt) Bushre, Estella (John) Pain, Marta (Joe) Ortiz, and Carmen Andrasko; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Chad (Heather) Stiles, Larry (Janet) Davids, Ricky Davids, and Connie (John) Hong.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Bonilla Sr.; his mother, Estella C. Bonilla; his brothers, Jose Bonilla and Antonio Bonilla Jr.; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Stiles; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Davids.

Frank was a devoted Detroit Lions fan and rarely missed a game. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially cheering on Kyle Busch. In his younger years, he played softball and remained an avid horseshoe player throughout his life, enjoying the game even in his later years. Above all, Frank cherished time spent with friends and family, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Frank’s battle with cancer began in January 2023 with kidney and lung cancer that later spread to other vital organs. Throughout his illness, he remained courageous, steadfast in hope, and strong in faith.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and hospice staff at Sparrow, as well as Janet Stiles, Ricky Davids, Connie Hong, and Jose Bonilla for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Frank’s final months.

As written in 2 Timothy 4:7:“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

And in John 14:27:“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

There will be no formal memorial service. Per Frank’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held on July 4, 2026.
