Frances Tusch

January 28, 1932 — August 7, 2024

Frances Mary Tusch (nee Kamsicas), fondly known as Fran, age 92, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on August 7, 2024. Born on January 28, 1932, in Grand Rapids, she was a beacon of warmth and creativity in her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Fran's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of SS Peter and Paul grade school, later transitioning to the halls of Catholic Central High School. Fran was a woman of many talents, a gifted artist whose hands shaped beauty out of ordinary materials. Fran's intricate bread dough figurines and unique bookmarks crafted from pressed flower petals were not just art pieces but tokens of love she shared with the world.

Her creativity extended beyond her art; Fran was a natural teacher, sharing her skills and joy for crafts in her home and at SS Peter and Paul school. She was not only a mentor to many but also a treasured friend and confidant to those she taught.

Fran's love and generosity knew no bounds. She was the heart of her family, and her loving husband of 54 years, Robert J. Tusch, who preceded her in death, was her life's companion in every sense. Together, they shared a zest for adventure and travel, with Las Vegas holding a special place in their hearts.

Fran's legacy is carried on by her daughter, Susan "Suzi" Tusch, and sons, Gregory and Chris Tusch, who continue to walk in the light of her loving guidance. She was a nurturing mother not only to her children but also to her grand-dog Abigail, who remained a loyal friend to the end. Her presence in their lives was a gift they will cherish forever.

Though her son, Robert G. Tusch, welcomed her on the next part of her journey, those left behind remember Fran as the embodiment of a life well-lived. To be in Fran's company was to know true friendship, to witness generosity in action, and to feel unconditionally loved. Her laughter was infectious, her smile a source of comfort, and her art a reminder of the beauty that one person can bring into existence.

Frances Mary Tusch was more than just a name; she was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished friend, and a gifted artist. Her life was a tapestry of relationships and experiences, each thread woven with care and affection. As we say farewell, we hold onto the knowledge that her influence will continue to be felt, her art will continue to inspire, and her memory will be a guiding light for generations to come.

The world is a less colorful place without Fran, but heaven has gained an artist, and we take solace knowing that she is painting the stars with the same love and passion she shared here on earth. We love you Mom!
