Floyd Caswell

Floyd Ray Caswell (Pee-wee), age 75 of Martin, MI passed away on November 15, 2023. Ray was born October 28, 1948 to Herbert and Louise Caswell in Monterey, MI. He married his wife, Lorraine (Symonds) Caswell on August 18, 1968. A few weeks later he went to Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he lived in Texas for a year with his bride. They returned to Michigan where he worked construction. After that, he started at Western Michigan University where he retired in 1990. During this time, he was also a member of the National Guard for many years. Later in his life he worked for Scholten mink farm and Deyoung Pig farm. He truly loved driving the Piggy bus.

Ray never met a stranger. He loved to talk and loved to have coffee with his friends and Loved his Grandchildren, beyond measure.


Floyd Ray Caswell Survived by his wife of 55 years, (children) Randy Caswell, Patty (Chris) Gonser, Jen Caswell, (Grandchildren) Janessa, Montana, Triston Caswell, Clayton (Kylie) Geerlings, Kylee & Paige Gonser, (Great-Grandchildren) Harlee Caswell & Alaina Geerlings (Arriving April 2024), (Brother) Delbert (sue) Caswell, (brother-in-law) Phillip (Pam) Symonds. (sister-in-law) Linda (Bruce) Spence. Many nieces and Nephews and his best friend Bob Kitchen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, His brother and sister Darlene and Richard Caswell (who lost their life in a fire when Floyd was a baby) Half-brother Robert Jordon. Mother and Father in-law Kip and May Symonds and daughter-in-law Chastity Caswell.


Please Join us to celebrate Floyd’s life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the VFW 3030 in Otsego, MI from 5-8:00 PM. (come hungry and ready to share your Pee-wee stories) Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 Dickman Rd. Augusta MI.) with Military Honors on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
