Etta Barrera

September 2, 1945 — June 28, 2025

Etta M. Barrera, age 79, loving wife of Robert Barrera, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. 

Etta was born to Nellie and Harold Randall, both deceased, in Remus, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her siblings George Randall, Clare L. Randall and Frances Shortsle. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Davidson. She is also survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert James Barrera, their children Robert J. Barrera II, Rebecca S. Barrera, Matthew R. Barrera. 

Etta received her bachelor's degree from Aquinas College in 1975 and practiced as a nurse in Grand Rapids. She also attended Cooley Law School in Ann Arbor, MI. She was appointed "Risk Manager" at Osteopathic Hospital and later at Butterworth Hospital until her retirement. 

Etta dearly loved her 4 grand children and 3 great grand children. 

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for her at St. John Paul II Parish at 3110 17 Mile Road in Cedar Springs, MI, on Saturday August 9th at 10am. A reception and luncheon will follow.
