Eric Jon VomSteeg, 54, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2020 in Belmont, MI after a long hard battle with cancer. A service of remembrance will be held for immediate family at Graceland Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a “Celebration Of Life” for family and friends will be announced at a later date. Eric was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Walter and Joyce Ann VomSteeg on July 5th, 1966. Eric spent his early years back and forth between South San Francisco and Grand Rapids and made many friends along the way. He went on to graduate from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing and worked in a variety of industries throughout his lifetime in auto, mortgage, and yacht sales positions. He enjoyed many outdoor activities especially spending time with his children, camping, playing frisbee golf, bowling, and always taking advantage of any opportunity to get outside and embrace everything that nature had to offer. Eric’s quirky sense of humor and good heart will surely be missed. Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Ann VomSteeg and his father, Walter VomSteeg. Eric is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, Sloane and Grayson VomSteeg, sister, Edra VomSteeg, brother, Alvern VomSteeg, and special friend, Beth Nielsen. He also leaves behind his loving dog, and gentle companion, Stella. A memorial donation may be made to the American Cancer Society in Eric’s honor.
