Elizabeth Gwynn Galloway, age 77, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, September 21, 2020, surrounded by family at her son’s home in Comstock Park, Michigan. Gwynn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. During her 40-year nursing career, she was a marvelous caregiver and served at several area hospitals and care facilities, and also spent ten years as a travel nurse, which she loved. Her childhood years were spent in California, Oregon, and Washington, but she settled in Western Michigan to raise her family of four children. Throughout her life, she had the uncanny ability to sniff out a great deal, and loved treasure hunting at local garage sales and shops, finding just the right items for a special and meaningful gift for friends and family, or for offering help to others in need. In her retirement, she loved hitting the open road with her devoted husband of fifteen years, Jim Jack, and they extensively toured the United States in his Lincoln, making memories and sharing much laughter along the way. Always caring, advocating, encouraging, and loving, Jim has been her truly committed life partner. The family would like to thank the staff of the Brook of Cedar Springs, Faith Hospice, and very special caregiver Brenda for their caring attention to Gwynn in her last months. Gwynn was preceded in death by her grandson, Christian Soobrian. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Jack; her loving children Alecia, Scott (Jennifer), Jeanne Leah, and Clark (Holly Kyseth) Galloway; Jeff (Diane) Jack, Lisa Larson Jack DeKruyter, and Jodi (Paul) Jack Rozegnal; cherished grandchildren Claire, Bryce, Ayden, Devin, Courtney, Josh, Jacob, Jaycie, and Steven. A celebration of Gwynn’s life will be held at a later date.
