Remembering . . .

Koons, Elaine Louise (Aldrin) age 95 passed away on March 3. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Russell H. Koons and her daughter-in-law Mary Koons. Surviving are her three children Douglas Koons, Dennis (Linda) Koons and Darlene (Carl) Cress; six grandchildren, Douglas (Heather) Koons, Daniel Koons, Jacqueline (Adam) Billingsley, Kevin (Veronica) Koons, Christopher (Tiffany) Cress, Brian (Kate) Koons and fourteen great-grandchildren, Ella, Eric, Evelyn, Reece, Ashlynn, Cora, Ethan, Molly, Colton, Audra, Mateo, Lincoln, Adrienne, and Mason. Elaine is also survived by two sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was born in South Haven, Michigan on July 3, 1929, to Hilding and Eunice (Cimonicki) Aldrin and was their only child. Upon her graduation from High School, she attended Michigan State University where she met her husband, Russell Koons. Elaine worked for Amway Corporation for nineteen years in Accounts Payable. Along with her husband, they traveled to all 50 states and various countries during her lifetime.

Elaine loved family and friends. Some of her hobbies were playing cards, baking, sewing, and knitting. Elaine’s family will be holding a Celebration of Her Life at Heather Hills Retirement Village, 1055 Forest Hill Ave SE, Grand Rapids on Saturday, March 15 at 1:00 pm.
