Donna Marguerite Ewers, 76, of Spring Lake, MI, was “Received to Glory” on November 24, 2022. She was born in Detroit on November 10, 1946, to Bill and Ruth who preceded her in death. Donna graduated from Troy High School in Troy, MI in 1964. She graduated with a BS in Teaching from Northern Michigan University in 1969. She was a member of the Zeta Omega chapter of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She is survived by her daughter Tricia (Jim), son Mike (retired Air Force), grandsons Chris (Coast Guard) and Jon (Western Michigan University student), sisters Patricia (Brian) and Susan, nieces Erin and Katy, as well as grandnephews and a grandniece. Donna had several friends and caregivers who she held dear for many years: Debbie, Kathy, Mary, Eileen, and Joyce. She also enjoyed the companionship of having a cat, the most recent being a cat named “Sam” who was lovingly adopted by Joyce. She worked professionally as a teacher, in sales and marketing, and as a paralegal for several prominent law firms in the Detroit area. Donna was also an accomplished seamstress often making her own historical clothing worn while volunteering for the Troy Historical Museum. She loved to do perennial gardening, enjoyed collecting and trying out new recipes, and adored time spent with her grandsons. She was a regular contributor to the editorial section of the Grand Haven Tribune feeling very passionate about certain subjects. Donna will be remembered for her bright smile and the silly sense of humor she sometimes displayed. “May your playful soul shine on.”
