Donald Lesher

Donald Lee Lesher, born June 20, 1936, met the good Lord on July 3, 2024 at age 88.

Loving Husband of Sandra Lesher (Sommerfeldt) for 54 years.

Father of Lisa (Tim) Parker and Eric (Deanna) Lesher

Grandfather of Kyle Burgess (Carmen), Jake and Hailey Lesher.

Great Grandparent of Kash Burgess.

Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Helen Lesher, his sister Carol, and brother Richard.

Don was a retired Grand Rapids Police Officer, where he made many memories with co-officers.

Don had a lifelong passion for fishing and loved sharing stories from times at the lake. He enjoyed car shows, reminiscing about the classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s was a frequent hobby. Don led a family-focused life. He enjoyed family time at his parent’s farm property, and could typically be found behind the wheel of a lawn tractor, helping others or volunteering at church.

He recently shared many memories of Up North visits to Sandy’s family, her parents, the late Norm and Ella Sommerfeldt, sisters and brother Peggy, Clayton (Kathy), and Sally. A part of his heart was always tied to family in Chicago, as he missed the many relatives that hailed from the Naperville/Chicago area he was born.

Don will be missed by everyone who knew him, but we are sure he’s found a peaceful new home in Heaven.
