Donald Kolehouse

Donald Michael (Don) Kolehouse, age 67, our beloved husband, father, brother, friend passed on April 2, 2025. Don was diagnosed with LBD/Parkinson’s Disease in 2016, but enjoyed his family, travel, and activities until complications of the disease became insurmountable in his last year of life.

Don is survived by his wife, Debie, his children Kristin, Mike, Patrick, and Rob (Claira), grandchildren Brady and Katherine, as well as his sister Denise (Bobby) Griffin, and his brothers Dave (Lynda) Kolehouse and Doug (Janice) Kolehouse.

Don was truly the most stalwart of men; honest, loyal, and dedicated. He was whip-smart, wicked clever, and quietly hilarious. Never a big talker, we all learned to listen when he had something to say. He was a fountain of knowledge, an absolute ace at trivia, and had an enormous love of music, Tiger baseball, and the Detroit Lions - who could have done him a real solid and gone to the Super Bowl last season.

Don loved the outdoors, and his favorite season was hunting season. The first cool day in August would find him knee-deep in his crates and gear, preparing for the upcoming bow and gun season. His time in the woods with his son, his cousins, his Uncle Art, and his friends were times that he greatly treasured.

Don left this world looking forward to seeing his dad (Don), his mother (Donna), and brother (Dan) all who predeceased him. He also left knowing that his wide circle of friends - who were endlessly supportive during the last year - will continue to wrap their arms around his wife and kids as they navigate this new reality without their rock and their greatest cheerleader.

Please join the family for a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 19 from 2 pm - 4 pm at Boulder Creek Golf Club Banquet Room, 5750 Brewer Ave NE, Belmont, MI. Hunter’s orange, Detroit Lions, or Tiger baseball gear highly encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, where he was so lovingly cared for in his final days, or the Whitecaps Community Foundation/Ted Raspberry Youth League.
