Debra Kay Vanderzee Phillips

Debra Kay Vanderzee Phillips, age 59, loving mother to her children, passed away Monday, April 4th, 2022. Debbie was born December 25th, 1962, in Three Rivers, MI to Carol Lange and Corneal Morrison. She loved to do arts and crafts, play her Nintendo, and enjoyed talking with friends and family. She struggled with diabetes and lost both her legs due to the disease. She always brought a smile to your face, even though she was in pain. She loved unconditionally and was the strongest person her family knew. She married her first husband, Terry Vanderzee in 1980. They had 3 children together: Melissa, Barbara, and Joseph. She married her second husband, Donald Phillips in 2002. She was separated and living independently until her health no longer allowed her to and went into assisted living. She is survived by her mother, Carol; sister, Terry Hulbert; brother, Calvin Lange; children, Melissa (Chuck) Snyder, Barbara Edwards, Joseph (Molly) Vanderzee; grandchildren, Nathan, Destinee, Bentley, Ellianah, and Jonah, along with several nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, no funeral or service will be held. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread at a later date. Donations can be made to the family at 5443 Meredith St apt. E, Portage, MI 49002.
