David “Dave” Mazurkiewicz passed away peacefully at his home on August 30, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on January 30, 1955, in Grand Rapids.

Dave’s greatest joy in life was his family and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather, and he took great pride in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, David Mazurkiewicz Jr. and his wife, Erin, and their children, Isla and Drake; his daughter, Angela Landers and her husband, Chris, and their children, Hailey, Kevin, and Carley; and his daughter, Amy Colon and her husband, Jason, and their children, Nixxon and Willow.

Dave is also lovingly remembered by Sue Mazurkiewicz, his close friend and the mother of his children, whose place in his life remained meaningful.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Mazurkiewicz; and his sisters, Phyllis (Mazurkiewicz) Krueger and Patricia Ann (Mazurkiewicz) Vandervoorn.

Dave leaves behind a legacy of family, love, and memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Though his passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, his presence will continue to live on through the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the love he gave to those closest to him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned in the coming weeks. Information will be provided soon.
