Daryl Duane Burkwalt, age 68, of Albion, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Daryl was born on July 19, 1952 in Albion to his parents, William and Rose (Cole) Burkwalt. He graduated from Albion Senior High School in 1970. Daryl proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war as a Sargent movements specialist and a tank driver. He was honorably discharged in May of 1976. Daryl completed an apprenticeship with General Motors in Lansing and began a career with them. On December 1, 2012 he married Theresa Ann Waffle Dameron. Daryl will be best remembered as a friend who was always willing to help people out in a time of need. As an outdoorsman, his hobbies included fishing for Walleye and deer hunting. Daryl will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Theresa; children, Mary Miller, Marjorie (Anthony) Dicamillo, and Ben (Terri) Waffle; his grandchildren, Damon Miller, Hunter Miller, Sapphire Miller, Kenji Waffle, Zio Dicamillo and Quintino Dicamillo. Also surviving are a sister, Diana (Dale) Kieft, a niece, Stephanie (James) Gutierrez and nephew, Jackson Gutierrez.
