Danny Dubreuil

Danny Mitchell DuBreuil was born in Mason, Mi and raised by Carlyle DuBreuil and Irene Logan. He played football, rand track and was an Eagle Scout in Bath, Mi. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the US Army. He served in 68th Armor in Baumholder, Germany and 10th US Calvary, First Squadron, in Fort Carson, Colorado. He served in both the Army Reserves and the Michigan Army National Guard for a total of 27 years combined service. During his time of service he served in Atlanta, Georgia during the 1996 summer Olympics. His unit was deployed as a security force.

Danny enjoyed being a part of a team. He rode with the Lake County Sherriff’s Reserve’s and would also do ride along with the deputies because they were shorthanded. Danny also had a long tenure with the Lake County Road Commission serving as both a mechanic and a heavy equipment operator. Dan worked for a total of 24 years for the county.

Danny also liked spending time with his family and raising three children. They would take week long camping trips to the Upper Pennisula during the summers to chase the ever elusive monster musky. He would spend hours pouring over the latest Cabelas catalog trying to find his new “secret” weapon and studying the topo maps of all the lakes trying to find the best one. His youngest son, Clayton caught a giant musky first on a local lake. Out of playful frustration Clayton paid for it with an unwanted soaking off the end of the dock. Danny’s last trip up to the UP, he got excited about the kids all catching walleye and he ran into town with his brother and spent a weeks wages on poles and gear and never caught one. He loved history and politics and having a rousing conversation. He could talk to anyone and do it for hours.

Danny enjoyed farming and collecting equipment that he would save for potential projects. He enjoyed the hunt and the possibilities.

Danny is survived by his wife Angela, his children Amber (Jeremiah) Hamilton of Chase, Daniel (Heidi) DuBreuil of Chase, and Clayton (Sarah) DuBreuil of Chase; grandchildren Austin (Lauren), Cheyenne, Rebecca, Racquel, Natalie, Autumn, Emma, Landon; great grandchildren Alicia and Valkyrie.
