Daniel Piotrowski

October 13, 1953 — October 3, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Lee Piotrowski, who left us peacefully on October 3, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on October 13, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dan was a lifelong resident of the state he loved. He passed away in the comforting surroundings of his family and home in Cedar Springs, Michigan.

Dan will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Becky, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure. His legacy continues through his children, Amanda (Jeff), Kendall (Ann), Felicia (Sean), and Jessica (Kyle), and his grandchildren, Nick, Cora, Ally, Hayden, Haylee, Teddy, William, Emilia, Max, Mayleigh, Mason, Tommy, Declan and great-granddaughter Bella, who will carry forward the lessons and humor he imparted. He was a pillar of strength within his family, and his love, laughter, and helping hand will be profoundly missed.

He is also preceded in death by his father Joe, his mother Donna, his step father Henry, his father-in-law Howard, his mother-in-law Betty. He is also preceded in death by his brother Alan, his brothers-in-law Ronald, Melvin, John, Tony, Tom, Dave, and sister in law Joan. He is survived by his siblings Joe, Jerry (Kim), Jim (Liz), Richard, Susie, Gale (Kenny), Deanna, his siblings-in-law Bobby, Pam (Mark), Jim (Lori), Carol (Pat), Randy, Linda (Jim), Patty (Tom), Judy, and Diane (Randy) as well as many friends.

For 46 years, Dan was a dedicated employee at Knoll/Westinghouse, where he formed lasting friendships. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and wit, always ready with a joke to lighten the day.

Dan's passion for nature was evident to all who knew him. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, whether he was going for a walk to his park, saving every turtle he saw, or watching the birds. He had a special knack for spotting the extraordinary in the ordinary, and his respect for all living things was an inspiration to his family and friends.

Those who knew Dan will remember him as a funny and spirited individual. He was also incredibly handy, a trait that often came to the rescue for his family and friends. His hands were skilled, and his heart was generous, always willing to help others with his practical knowledge and creativity.

Dan's presence was a source of laughter and light, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He taught us to appreciate the simple moments, to find beauty in the world around us, and to approach life with a sense of humor and a willingness to lend a hand.

As we say goodbye to Dan, we hold tight to the memories that comfort us, the stories that make us smile, and the indelible mark he has left on our lives. His spirit will continue to guide us, just as the stars he so loved to gaze upon continue to shine brightly in the night sky.

We take solace in knowing that Dan's journey was full of love, laughter, and the beauty of the natural world he adored. He has left us with a reminder that the simplest things often hold the greatest value. Dan will be profoundly missed, but the imprints of his footsteps through this life will forever remain.

A Celebration of Life will honor Dan's life and legacy with everyone who wishes to reflect on the joy he brought into their lives. This will take place on October 18th from 6pm-9pm at the Solon Township Hall in Cedar Springs.
