Dale William Crum

Dale William Crum, 80, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on September 21, 2026. Dale was born on June 8, 1946, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Herbert and Ethel (Boone) Crum. Dale graduated from Delton Kellogg High School in 1964. Upon graduation, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy until 1968. 

Dale was employed by the Clark Equipment Company until their closing in 1982.  He then went on to work for various nursing homes as a nurse’s aide.  He ended his working career at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in 2001, where he held several positions over the years.  Dale was also a bartender for many years at Barney’s Bedford Bar and Eagle’s Lodge.

In his younger years, Dale enjoyed golfing and bowling, passing his love of bowling on to his children and grandchildren.  He also had a passion for putting puzzles together and playing various games on his phone, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his children Melissa Crum (Anthony) and Troy (Chrissy) Crum, sibling, Wanda Vaeu, grandchildren, Brandon Crum(Nikki), Troy Crum Jr and Christopher Patterson, great grandchildren, Oliver, Odin and Ivy Crum and Helena and Cameron Patterson, as well as many nieces and nephews,

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carol Bruckner and Vonitta Pierce and brother Kenneth Crum.

At Dale’s request, a service will not be held.  However, a Celebration of Life will be held on October 17, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Eagles Lodge, 19757 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
