Dale Clawson

Dale Livingston Clawson, age 78, of Fennville passed away peacefully at home, Friday November 24, 2023.

Dale leaves behind two daughters: Veasha Wilson and Sarah Clawson (Nathan Anderson); Stepchildren: Diana Canales, Marcella Canales (Brian Johnson), Rick Canales (Emily Karmila); Grandchildren: Samantha Foss (Joe Maxwell), Frank Cochran and Andrew (Paige) Cochran. siblings, Gayla (Arland) Heistand, Lowell (Janice) Clawson; Niece and Nephews: Brad (Michele) Clawson, Scott (Pat) Clawson, Brenda (Bill) Chin, Tina (John) Cooper, Lisa (Greg) Adams and Bethany (Bill) Graham; Aunt Lois Hayes; long time friend Jackie Peck.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd George and Veldene Victoria (Hart) Clawson; Siblings: Marvin Clawson, Weldene Clawson; Nephews: Jesse Clawson and Matthew Clawson.

Dale was born April 20, 1945 in Allegan, MI. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1963. He worked as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker for over 40 years at Holland Hitch, Bohn Aluminum and retired from Magna Donnelly in 2007. Even after retirement he worked out of his pole barn to restore & modify his John Deere tractors. Dale had a natural talent for metal working. There are jigs & fixtures he made that are still in use today.

Dale loved hunting & fishing. He ran his own charter boat, The Alibi, out of Saugatuck during the 1980’s. He even made his own downriggers. Later on, he won blue gill competitions. Dale participated in tractor pulls with his John Deere tractors and won many trophies. He loved trap & skeet shooting at the local gun clubs

where he also won many trophies. Dale was known for excelling in every hobby he took on.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Minnies Restaurant, 200 Locust St. Allegan, MI 49010 on Dec.9, 2023 at 3:30 to 5pm. Afterwards, there will be an informal gathering at the Allegan Eagles 110 Chestnut St. Allegan, MI 494010
