Craig William Dodds of White Cloud, Michigan, affectionately known as "Craiger" by friends and loved ones, passed away on August 31, 2024, after courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 2, 1953, to the late William L. and Phillis M. Dodds, Craig's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
A graduate of Central High School Craig went on to bravely serve his country in the Army where his skills earned him the National Defense service medal for Sharp shooter with an M16. Craig applied his auto mechanic trade he learned in the Army, in his professional journey including significant contributions to Steel case of Grand Rapids and Federal Mogul of Sparta to which brought him much satisfaction and respect. His work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact on his colleagues and companies he served. Family was the Cornerstone of Craig's life. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kim, his son John, and children BobbieJo & Chris, Pete Jr & Brooke Marfia, and Jimmy Pearce. His cherished grandchildren Jasmine, Colin & Bryttany, Daniel & Emmalee, Anthony, Tristan, and Annabelle. Craig also took great pride and joy in his great grandchildren AylaMae, Azalea, Desmond, Levi, Oliver, and Everlee. His nephew Billy with great niece Bryleigh Jo, his niece Montana & Corey Steele with great nephews William, Ryker, and Odin and numerous close friends. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Brad A. Dodds and Cynthia R. Dodds, and his nephew Carlos Cruthers.
And Avid Outdoorsman Craig's passion for fishing was well known amongst his family and friends especially his nephew Billy and a few close friends. Whether on a boat or beside the stream he found solace in the tranquility of nature. Hunting with his son John and Grandson Colin, eating good food, or just smoking out with the crew were some of his most favorite pursuits, but what truly fulfilled him was the laughter and love that surrounded him when he was with his family. Craig's generosity knew no bounds and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in particular, were the recipients of his endless affection, Love, and playful spirit.
Craig often teased his daughter BobbieJo that she drove him crazy, but their bond was unbreakable. filled with love, humor, discipline, and mutual respect. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to lend a hand, offer advice (even if you didn't want it), or simply be there when someone needed him. His selflessness, generosity, and kindness, were the hallmarks of his character leaving an undeniable mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
As we bid farewell to Craig William Dodds aka "Craiger", we celebrate a life lived with honor, respect, laughter, and an abundance of love. His memory will live on in stories and fishing tales recounted amongst family and friends while he's gone, but never forgotten.
