Colin Ethan Newton, age 23, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, in Allendale, Michigan. Colin was born in Covington, Kentucky on May 22, 1996 and moved with his parents to Michigan in 2003. Colin was a happy go lucky kid who loved to make people laugh. After graduation from Allendale High School in 2014, Colin enlisted in the US Army Reserves serving with the Wheeled Mechanic Division in Walker, Michigan for four years. Upon completion of his service he transitioned into active duty status serving at Fort Lee Virginia, next with the 8th Army in Yongsan, South Korea and finally at Fort Riley Kansas. He spoke frequently of his military family and valued the relationship they shared. Colin will be cherished and loved by those he left behind. He is survived by his parents Lester and Lisa Newton, siblings Zac Newton, Jessa Newton, Kate Newton, Alyssa Newton, Lou (Barbara) Newton, Amanda(Jim) Hughes, Kaitlin Grill, Kelcey Newton, Jessica Newton, William Newton, Coley Newton, Alisha Newton , Alex Newton, Grandparents David (Diane) Wier, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Grand Parents Russell (Gwen) Newton. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, a service for Colin will be held early this summer at Fort Custer National Military Cemetery. Time and date to be announce at a later date.
