Christopher Erich Davis, age 66, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, sadly left this world far too soon on Friday, April 24, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on July 15, 1960, to Donald and Claudine Davis.
Truly one of a kind, Chris was tall, handsome, witty, and had a playful spirit. He embraced life, had many adventures, and was known to be a bit of a risk-taker at times. He miraculously survived a serious motorcycle accident in 2007, an experience that deepened his love of life and strengthened his personal faith. He fiercely loved his family and friends, as well as his cats, music, and traveling to places all over the world. He will never be forgotten and is already sorely missed.
Chris was preceded early in death by his beloved mother, Claudine, and later by his beloved father, Donald, and Donald’s second wife, Jill.
He is survived by his siblings: Jeffrey (Rosemary) Davis, Jennifer (Kurt) Davis Faasen, Phillip (Monica) Davis, Victoria Davis, step-brother Don (Natalie) Cook; his only nephew, Kevin Maynard; and his precious niece, Amalia Davis. He is also survived by his aunts, Barbara Reed and Geraldine (Ron) Urbanski, and cousins, John (Ana) Endres, Todd (Jane) Urbanski, Wendy Crace(???), and Scott Urbanski.
Chris will be missed by his family in France, where his mother Claudine was born, including his aunts and uncle, Nicole and Jacques Stiefbold, and Marie-Christine Dujardin; his late uncle, Patrick Dujardin; as well as his cousins, Marie-Catherine Stiefbold, Jérôme Stiefbold, Edmond Dujardin, Alexandre Dujardin, and Amélie Dujardin.
He will be remembered by his close circle of lifelong friends who meant everything to him, and his partner of two years, Carol Platz.
A service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 22, 2026, at Holy Spirit Church on 2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. A celebration of life will also be held in the near future, with the date and location to be shared.
Fly free, our Christopher, our Brother.
You are deeply loved and will be forever missed.
