Chester Clarence Johnson

Chester Clarence Johnson, affectionately known as Chet, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in Lakeview, Michigan. Born on December 7, 1944, Chet lived a life marked by dedication, both to his country and to the passions that brought him joy.

A proud veteran, Chet served two tours in Vietnam, demonstrating courage and commitment during a challenging era. His service is remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew him and by the wider community he served so honorably.

Outside of his military contributions, Chet was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. He loved to hunt and fish, pursuits that not only connected him to nature but also provided moments of peace and fulfillment. These hobbies were more than mere activities; they were expressions of his patience, skill, and love for the great outdoors.

Chet is survived by his loving sons: Steve Johnson, Chris Johnson, David Johnson, Lee Johnson, and Tim Johnson; grandchildren: Jakob and Ryan; and great grandchildren: Karissa, Emery and Greyson. Each carries forward his legacy of strength and kindness. His family was a source of immense pride and joy to him, and his memory will live on in their hearts.
