Charles "Chuck" Eli Suttorp

Chuck Suttorp passed away on Saturday July 26, 2025 at the age of 61. Chuck is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Suttorp and their four children Michael Suttorp, Mitchell Suttorp, Morgen Suttorp and Michelle Suttorp. Chuck has three grandchildren Aayliyah Suttorp, Isaac Suttorp and Julian Acosta. He is survived by his sister Sue VanZytfeld, nephew Joe VanZytfeld and step dad Pat Riley. Chuck was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lou Riley (Hopp), grandmother Helen Heeringa who they called Nan, father John Suttorp, brother in law James VanZytveld and nephew Jimmy VanZytfeld.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him along with his two dogs Kia and Bree which brought him so much love and companionship. Chuck had a love for music and was often heard beating on his drums and symbols with his favorite drumsticks wanting everyone to come listen and watch. It would be nothing for him to send out a random text checking on people to make sure they were okay. He also loved sharing his many stories with anyone that would listen. 

Chuck loved Sheila, his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He met Sheila when she was 15. They loved listening to music together, watching the  Lions, but most importantly talking with each other making sure everyone and everything was okay. 

Chuck has overcome many obstacles throughout his life. Every setback just made him stronger and he fought though it the best he could. It is comforting to know he is with Jesus now. Let it bring us peace and joy knowing his suffering is over.
